Old Bradfieldian Lodge No. 3549
The lodge was founded in 1911 and the first Master was George Blackall-Simonds younger brother of Blackall Simonds, Bradfield's first boy.
The Lodge meets twice a year in London at Freemasons’ Hall and holds a dinner afterwards. It also meets once a year, usually in April at the College, this is followed by a dinner and our principal guest is often the Headmaster or a senior member of staff who keep us up-to-date with developments at the College.
The Lodge donates money each year to a Travel Bursary at the discretion of the Headmaster to fund Gap Year students doing voluntary work in deprived areas of the World. It also supports other worthy causes chosen by the Lodge members, through the Metropolitan Masonic Charity Appeal or the Freemasons’ Grand Charity.
Lady OBs wishing to become Freemasons may of course join one of the Women’s Freemasonry fraternities and perhaps in due course, if there are sufficient applicants, an Old Bradfieldfieldian Women’s Masonic Lodge could be established.
Anyone interested in joining the Lodge should contact the Secretary, Quentin Edwards Quentin@coolsfarm.co.uk for further information
