Peter Ainsworth (D 70 - 75) passed away suddenly on 6th April 2021 aged 64. Peter was Head of School during his time at Bradfield, and went on to make a career in Politics. Peter was a Conservative, the Member of Parliament for East Surrey from 1992 to 2010, a government whip under John Major, and shadow secretary for culture and later the environment under William Hague, Iain Duncan Smith and David Cameron. Following his retirement from politics, Peter was appointed UK Chair of the Big Lottery Fund and, later, Chairman of the Churches Conservation Trust.
