Misan Harriman (C 91-94) is a Nigerian-born British photographer, creative director and cultural commentator. During his time at Bradfield he developed a life-long love for the Arts subjects before pursuing a creative career path. As one of the most widely-shared photographers of the Black Lives Matter movement, Misan is also the first black person to shoot a cover for British Vogue magazine - a portrait of Marcus Rashford and Adwoa Aboah - which was published in the September 2020 edition. All the more amazing given his ability to capture a great photograph and its story, on his website he admits that his photographic skills are completely self-taught.

His strong reportage style and unique eye for narrative has captured the attention of editors and celebrities around the world. From documenting moments in history, to photographing high-profile people, he demonstrates extraordinary range and talent.

Below you can see his work for GQ magazine in an article published in November 2020, which has been followed in Jan/Feb 2021 by both a cover photograph and story about Lewis Hamilton, again in GQ magazine. Misan is an unstoppable force in photography and reporting and this is an inspiration for us to see and to be able to share.
